Hi there! I'm Alex, the hands behind Helvey Handmade. 

I have always had a love for all things simple & delicate. I enjoy all types of crafting and creating.

Shortly after our daughter was born, she was diagnosed with a rare condition that required 2 major skull surgeries. I found myself having a difficult time finding bows that not only fit, but didn’t bother her incision. So, I began making bows for her that had that classic look, but still allowed me to add my own personal touch and ensure they were comfortable for her!

Sixteen months after our daughter was born, the Lord blessed us with a sweet baby boy. Naturally, I didn’t want him to be left out, so I began to broaden my “sewing horizons” to bow-ties and baby blankets. My husband encouraged me to share my passion, and hence, the idea for Helvey Handmade emerged. 

It is my hope that your little ones enjoy these handmade baby items as much as I have enjoyed making them for mine!
